Waschbären auf dem Campingplatz

Waschbären sind dämmerungs- und nachtaktive Tiere, die ursprünglich in Amerika beheimatet und bei uns in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts als Jagdwild eingeführt worden. Da sie in Europa, anders als in ihrer ursprünglichen Heimat, keine natürlichen Feinde haben, konnten sie sich hier ungestört vermehren und haben sich von dort, wo damals nur wenige Exemplare ausgesetzt wurden (u.a. am Edersee), immer weiter ausgebreitet. Kassel gilt heute als Hauptstadt der Waschbären. Aber auch in Marburg sind sie inzwischen allgegenwärtig. 

Grundsätzlich sind Waschbären nicht aggressiv und greifen Menschen auch nicht an. Doch sie sind und bleiben Wildtiere. Man sollte sie trotz aller Possierlichkeit nicht anfassen, füttern oder anlocken. Als Raubtiere sind sie in Situationen, in denen sie sich eingeengt fühlen, Angst oder Unsicherheit verspüren, durchaus in der Lage schmerzhafte Bisswunden zu verursachen. Insbesondere ein Anlocken der Tiere durch Füttern muss unbedingt vermieden werden.

Waschbären sind von Natur aus neugierig und außerdem sehr geschickt. Sie untersuchen alles, was ihnen interessant erscheint und essbar sein könnte. Dabei nutzen sie nicht nur Augen, Nase und Ohren, sondern setzten auch ihren sehr gut entwickelten Tastsinn ein.

Daher empfehlen wir Ihnen, nichts Essbares oder Abfall vor Zelten und Wohnwagen liegen zu lassen.

Raccoons are crepuscular and nocturnal animals, originally native to America and introduced to us in the first half of the 20th century as hunting game. Since they have no natural enemies in Europe, unlike in their original homeland, they were able to reproduce here undisturbed and have spread from where only a few specimens were released at the time (including at Lake Edersee). Kassel is now considered the capital of raccoons. But they are now also omnipresent in Marburg. 

Basically, raccoons are not aggressive and do not attack humans. But they are and remain wild animals. You should not touch them, feed them or lure them despite all their poseability. As predators, they are quite capable of inflicting painful bites in situations where they feel confined, fearful or unsafe. In particular, attracting them by feeding them must be avoided at all costs.

Raccoons are curious by nature and also very dexterous. They examine everything that seems interesting to them and could be edible. In doing so, they use not only their eyes, nose and ears, but also their very well-developed sense of touch.

Therefore, we recommend that you do not leave anything eatable or trash in front of tents and caravans.

Los mapaches son animales crepusculares y nocturnos, originarios de América e introducidos en la primera mitad del siglo XX como animales de caza. Como en Europa no tienen enemigos naturales, al contrario que en su patria original, pudieron reproducirse aquí sin ser molestados y se han extendido desde donde entonces sólo se soltaban unos pocos ejemplares (por ejemplo, en el lago Edersee). Kassel se considera hoy la capital de los mapaches. Pero ahora también están omnipresentes en Marburgo. 

Básicamente, los mapaches no son agresivos ni atacan a los humanos. Pero son y siguen siendo animales salvajes. A pesar de su simpatía, no hay que tocarlos, alimentarlos ni atraerlos. Como depredadores, son muy capaces de causar dolorosas heridas por mordedura en situaciones en las que se sienten confinados, temerosos o inseguros. En particular, debe evitarse a toda costa atraer a los animales dándoles de comer.

Los mapaches son curiosos por naturaleza y también muy hábiles. Examinan todo lo que les parece interesante y podría ser comestible. No sólo utilizan sus ojos, nariz y oídos, sino también su sentido del tacto, muy desarrollado.

Por tanto, le recomendamos que no deje nada comestible ni basura delante de tiendas y caravanas.
